Serving the community since 1983. Founded by Pat Schartz and inspired by the Older Americans Act of 1965, the Ellinwood Senior Center has been a hub for local seniors for 40 years. Weekday Friendship Meals are served at 11:45am, with Free Coffee Wednesdays from 9-10:30am. Regular events include potluck dinners, pitch and finger food nights, transportation services, a lending library, and monthly health checks by Angels Care Home Health. The center also offers facility rentals for family events. Committed to fellowship, independence, and well-being, the center continues to be a welcoming space for Ellinwood's seniors.

The CDC currently offers preschool and childcare services at two locations in Ellinwood, each overseen by a licensed director. The Main Street Campus, located at 615 N. Main, provides care for children ages 2 weeks to 4 years old. The Wilhelm Campus, located at 512 N. Wilhelm, serves children ages 4 to 12 years old. Both campuses are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow and learn. Rooted in faith, the organization is dedicated to sharing God’s love, helping families grow together as a community of devoted followers of Christ.
