As a way of thanking our amazing members, we started a new member promotion called 'FRONT DOOR FRIDAYS'!

These businesses are good citizens of our community and an excellent resource if you need their services. We appreciate our chamber members and are proud to show off their ‘front doors’ every Friday.

If you are interested in joining more than 100 businesses and organizations in Ellinwood and the surrounding area, visit our website at ellinwoodchamber.com to learn more about membership in the chamber and how we can grow our community together!

The history of the paper goes back into the mid-1800s.  In 1878, there was an Ellinwood Express which transitioned into the Ellinwood Advocate about ten years later.  The Ellinwood Leader started up in 1894 and had several owners, the latest being Main Street Media, owned by Frank Mercer.

The business mission of the paper is to provide a forum for the local community.  We want Ellinwood to feel comfortable and safe in providing us with news about the community.  It's nice to be able to have a piece of paper that you can hang on the refrigerator with pictures and write-ups of your family or your business and we can provide that for you.  We can also provide a place where comments can be made - either appreciating aspects of the community or providing suggestions for how it can be made better.

We offer entertainment, news of the community, and a way to connect with each other.  We can offer information on upcoming events, business opportunities, and great sales.

For a reasonable fee of $32.40 per year, if you live in Barton County, we can send you your own paper.  If you have relatives who live out of the county or even in another state, they ask for a subscription to the Leader and keep up with the hometown news.  It's a way to keep in touch with the families who have moved out of the area and might be a way to entice them back home.  If you have something special going on with your business or your family, you can advertise it in the paper for a small fee and it will go out to over 300 people around the country and that doesn't count the papers that are provided to Ellinwood Family Foods and Zip's where they can be picked up individually.

Head over to Ellinwood Leader and meet their fun staff today!
