United Way of Central Kansas Stuff the Bus Fundraiser

United Way of Central Kansas is gearing up for their annual Stuff the Bus initiative, to be held this year on July 21st across Barton County and we need your help.

There are a few ways you can be a part of this.

• Collect items in your business from your employees. Make it fun! Make it a competition between departments and celebrate the winner with a pizza lunch.

• Have a box out at your business to collect items from your clients/customers. Bring the donated items to us on July 21st for a photo op!

• Encourage your staff to donate an hour of their time or let them volunteer while on the clock. Reach out to Gaila Demel to get signed up.

Items we are requesting include:

• School supplies to fill backpacks and stock classrooms

• Cleaning supplies

• Personal Hygiene products

• Infant/Child care basics

• Non-perishable snacks/drinks

• Senior products

Donated items are used to stock backpacks for students in need, items for the non-food pantry at Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas, toiletry supplies for Family Crisis Center, paper products to the Ellinwood Heritage Senior Center, as well as supplies for the individual agencies to use throughout the year to help keep expenses down. School supplies donated will not only support local backpack programs, but also be distributed to the school districts to have additional supplies on hand throughout the year.
