When did you guys come to Ellinwood for business?

Sunflower Bank arrived in Ellinwood and Great Bend twenty-three years ago on April 5, 1996.

What makes your business unique?

We’re more than just a bank. We strive to be an integral part of the community. From providing banking services and employment opportunities to finding ways to give back, Sunflower Bank works hard to make a difference. As an organization, we align a portion of our giving with our community reinvestment goals. This includes helping non-profits that focus on affordable housing, community redevelopment, financial education, and improving the lives of those less fortunate.

We know we can make a difference and we challenge our associates to do the same. We strive to create possibility in our communities, and we understand that change can’t be done through donations alone, it takes do-ers. Therefore, Sunflower Bank gives each employee 24 hours a year to go out into the community and make an impact by volunteering. Employees are encouraged to find organizations they are passionate about and Sunflower finds ways to support those passions. Through donations, sponsorships, corporate partnerships, and providing volunteer time, we have become part of the fabric of our local communities.

In addition, we offer a full range of financial products and services to serve the unique needs of our valued customers. We partner with them to help achieve their goals through innovative solutions and locally informed decision-making. We’re also proud to have raised over $1.2 million since 2001 for local schools and students in our communities through our signature ABC Program.

Briefly describe your career path?

At Sunflower Bank, we offer a working environment with a strong emphasis on passion, accountability, and leadership. We believe that each associate should have the means to achieve professional growth, enhancing their career. We are committed to helping our associates succeed and thrive by empowering them to operate with a local approach, integrating into the communities we serve.
